J.D. Vance’s Upcoming Appearance on “The View”
In a surprising turn of events, the co-hosts of “The View” are set to welcome Vice President J.D. Vance back to their show after previously criticizing him. Vance’s appearance is scheduled for June 16, making him only the third sitting vice president to visit “The View.” All six co-hosts—Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sarah Haines, Alyssa Farrah Griffin, and Ana Navarro—will be present for this noteworthy occasion.
A recent study indicated that “The View” had 341 guests in 2025, with a significant imbalance: only two were conservatives, while a notable 128 identified as liberal.
The co-hosts have not been shy about their disdain for both Donald Trump and Vance, especially since Vance became Trump’s running mate. Joy Behar, in July 2024, remarked that Vance represented a favorable choice for the Democratic Party, characterizing him as a “carbon copy” of Trump who wouldn’t attract a broader voter base.
Sunny Hostin suggested that Trump selected Vance with specific intentions, noting that he is an election denier and may act in ways that Mike Pence would not. Just before a vice presidential debate, Ana Navarro called upon a political opponent to expose Vance’s alleged opportunism, claiming that he stays silent on contentious issues while aiming to secure political gain.
Navarro expressed that it was troubling for anyone to remain quiet amid Trump’s attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris, stating, “What could be more disgusting than a man who remains silent because he will do and say anything to get elected?”
In light of these critiques, the hosts continued to challenge Usha Vance, the second lady. Hostin questioned how her values could align with Vance’s, particularly after he suggested she should embrace the Christian gospel due to her Hindu beliefs. In a pointed statement, she remarked that the nation is currently facing significant challenges that require a clear alignment of values. Some stances, she noted, are simply deal-breakers.
Behar echoed this sentiment, observing that Vance previously criticized Trump but now appears to be accommodating him. Hostin implicated Usha in this dynamic by suggesting that her ambitions might have influenced their alignment with Trump.
Attempts to reach Vance and the White House for comment on these discussions went unanswered.
