JD Vance to tail Kamala Harris and her running mate this week on campaign trail

As Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and her soon-to-be-announced running mate begin campaigning in all seven key battleground states this week, Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. J.D. Vance will also be making stops nearby.

Harris, a first-term senator from Ohio and former President Donald Trump’s running mate in the Republican national election, is set to shadow him as part of the Trump campaign’s plan to sandwich the vice president between him and his running mate on his first tour of battleground states.

A source familiar with the Senate political situation confirmed to Fox News that Vance will visit Philadelphia on Tuesday, the day the vice president begins his campaign.

The senator is expected to use the trip, described as a media outing rather than a rally, to attack Harris on key issues such as inflation, border security and crime that Republicans see as political weaknesses for the vice president.

Vance’s event, first reported by Politico early Monday morning, is expected to include “ordinary Americans” who have been negatively affected by President Biden’s policies.

Harris goes after Trump in fundraising surge

Democratic candidate Harris is scheduled to hold rallies in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Detroit, Michigan, on Wednesday and in Raleigh, North Carolina on Thursday, and Vance is expected to get close to her and her running mate.

Senator Vance’s bracketing of Senator Harris comes as she is increasingly serving as an attack dog for Republican candidates and a key ambassador to the GOP’s high-dollar donor base.

But Trump, who has a history of confrontational politics, has had no problem attacking Harris directly in the two weeks since she replaced Biden as the Democratic candidate.

In social media posts over the weekend and at a rally with Vance in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, Trump accused the vice president of having a “low IQ” and being “stupid” and lacking “mental capacity.”
