Vice President J.D. Vance Votes in Ohio Primary

This morning, Vice President J.D. Vance made a stop in Ohio to cast his vote in the state’s primary election.

Vance brought his son Vivek along to participate in the upcoming midterm elections scheduled for November. He also took the opportunity to endorse candidates he supported.

“It’s great to be in Cincinnati this morning to vote for Vivek Ramaswamy for Governor, Jay Edwards for State Treasurer, and Eric Conroy for Congress (OH-1). Ohioans, I hope you’ll do the same!” he shared on social media.

The primaries also include a special election for the U.S. Senate, aimed at filling the seat left vacant by Vance’s vice presidency. Sen. Jon Husted, who was appointed by Governor Mike DeWine, is facing no opposition in the Republican primary. Meanwhile, the Democratic side features former Senators Sherrod Brown and Ron Kincaid among the candidates.

When asked about the November elections after voting, Vance expressed his support for Husted. “I think John will do a great job,” he said. “He’s a good person and a good person for the people of Ohio.”

At the polling location, Vance joked about keeping his vote private, saying, “I have to hide it from the reporters. I don’t want them to know who I voted for.”

His son also participated with a child ballot, and Vance commented, “He voted for the Easter Bunny over the Tooth Fairy. He has loose teeth, so this is a risky choice.”

Later in the day, Vance is expected to speak at an event in Des Moines, Iowa.
