Billionaire Jeff Bezos and journalist Lauren Sanchez tied the knot on Friday during a stunning wedding in Venice, as reported by the Associated Press.
At the event, around 200 guests attended this star-studded occasion. The Italian municipality issued a statement mentioning notable attendees, including the Kardashian-Jenner clan, actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Orlando Bloom, Queen Rania of Jordan, tech giant Bill Gates, retired NFL stars Tom Brady, as well as Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. Former President Trump was invited but did not make an appearance.
Sanchez wore a beautiful high-neck gown designed by Dolce & Gabbana, featuring long sleeves and silk buttons. She proudly showcased her dress on social media, expressing, “Not only the gown, but part of the poem” in her caption.
Discussing her attire, Sanchez mentioned to a magazine that she felt “like a princess.” For a welcome dinner prior to the wedding, she also donned a stylish Shea Parelli Couture Gold Corset Dress.
Bezos, founder of the space venture Blue Origin and owner of the Washington Post, proposed to Sanchez five years ago in 2023.
Instead of traditional gifts, Bezos and Sanchez requested guests to contribute to local organizations dedicated to preserving Venice’s cultural heritage. They communicated that donations would be made to UNESCO Venice, aiming to protect the city’s unique culture and support sustainable solutions for the future.
Not everyone welcomed the wedding, though; various local organizations, including Extinction Rebellion and Greenpeace, expressed their discontent and called for protests against the event. Protesters displayed banners stating, “If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more taxes.”
