Jeff Garlin leaves standup performance after receiving an $800 bill

Jeff Garlin Walks Out of Stand-Up Performance

Last week, Jeff Garlin opted not to perform at a scheduled stand-up show.

According to reports, the 62-year-old “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actor had agreed to headline a comedy dinner at the Calabasas Country Club in Southern California for $800 in cash.

However, upon arriving at the venue, he was presented with a check instead of cash, which prompted him to leave without performing.

“The crowd was upset,” an insider shared, noting that many attendees had come specifically to see Garlin.

The regular comedy night at the club usually features around 40 guests, coinciding with events like Bingo Night and Father’s Day brunch.

This unexpected walkout from Garlin has raised some eyebrows.

It’s surprising that he would turn down $800, considering his long-established career. Garlin played Jeff Green, Larry David’s best friend and manager, throughout all 12 seasons of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and led ABC’s “The Goldbergs” for ten seasons.

While it seems odd, insiders suggest the incident might not actually be about money.

“Jeff can be a very nervous guy,” the source commented.

Though Garlin is primarily recognized as a comic actor, he originally started as a stand-up comedian in Chicago during the 1980s, where he was part of a renowned comedy group alongside well-known names like Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert.

Attempts to reach Garlin’s representative for comments went unanswered.
