Tennessee Titans’ Jeffery Simmons Faces Break-in During Game
During the Tennessee Titans’ game against the San Francisco 49ers, star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons dealt with a serious situation at home. Reports indicate that “at least six suspects” broke into his Nashville residence shortly after 7 p.m. while the game was in progress.
Interestingly, this was happening at the same time the Titans were facing off against the 49ers in the Bay Area.
Simmons took to social media to express his thoughts, questioning, “What would I do if my family was in the house??” He shared footage from his security cameras showing the robbers attempting to get inside, stating, “You can have all the materialistic things, but this is crazy!” He did not shy away from labeling the intruders as “cowards.”
In his statement, he thanked the Nashville Metro Police Department, commending their professionalism and quick action. He noted, “Their dedication to ensuring the safety of our entire Nashville community has not gone unnoticed. I remain grateful for God’s protection and grace.”
The suspects reportedly gained access by breaking a window and took several items from Simmons’ home, although the exact items remain unspecified.
Meanwhile, Simmons’ strong performance on the field was overshadowed by this incident, even as he managed to score against the 49ers. Unfortunately, he’s not alone in his experience; other NFL players, including Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, as well as Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, have reported similar robberies, which were linked to a group of South American thieves targeting athletes.
In a separate incident, Cleveland Browns rookie Shedule Sanders lost $200,000 worth of property while his team played the Baltimore Ravens earlier in the season. Currently, the Titans’ security team is working closely with local authorities to recover the stolen belongings.
