Jeffries says Trump trying to 'disorient' with talk of third term, being king

House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries (DN.Y.) said on Sunday that he was trying to “confuse” by talking about President Trump's third term and king.

“Donald Trump probably served his third term this week and made repeated comments on social media posts that he called King. Are you taking that seriously, or he just upset them. Do you think you're trolling the people you're trying to get them to?' CNN's JakTapper asked Jeffries about the “state of the Union.”

Jeffries replied that the president “deliberately unleashes extremism and outrageous things to the American people in order to confuse Americans every day.”

“Donald Trump is not king. He never bends his knees. Not now. And I will continue to point out that he is focusing on the wrong things,” he added.

On Thursday, the president raised the idea of attempting another term at the Black History Month event.

“Should I run again? You tell me?” Trump asked at the time.

The day before comments on Trump's third term, Trump posted to the true society that New York was “saved” following his administration's announcement that New York would withdraw approval of its congestion pricing plan.

“Crowded pricing is dead. All Manhattan and New York are saved,” Trump posted to his Truth Society. “Live the King for a long life!”

In the arrival of CNN, Jeffries said the president “is not focused on improving the quality of life of everyday Americans or taking away high living costs.”

“The Democrats are committed to improving the lives of all Americans in every community in every corner of this great country,” he added.

Oka reached out to the White House for comments.
