House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries from New York has voiced strong criticism regarding an artificial intelligence-generated video shared by President Trump. In it, Trump seemingly drops waste on protesters opposing his policies, with Jeffries labeling the content as “extremely disingenuous.”
“That video is very disingenuous, very unpresidential, very un-American,” Jeffries remarked during a CNN interview on “Erin Burnett Outfront” late Monday.
He lamented that such outrageous conduct has been a consistent theme since the beginning of Trump’s presidency. Jeffries argued that his Republican counterparts are merely “whitewashing” the president’s extreme behaviors.
“It shouldn’t be surprising that House Republicans are continuing to blindly support Trump’s harmful policies,” he stated, emphasizing that they tend to overlook his extreme actions.
On Saturday, Trump posted the AI-generated video featuring a man in a crown flying a fighter jet and dumping what looked like brown liquid onto protesters in New York City. The video was paired with Kenny Loggins’ song “Danger Zone,” depicting a “King Trump” jet making the drop above Times Square.
Additionally, Trump shared another AI video, initially posted by Vice President Vance on Blue Sky, where he appeared in a crown and a cloak. This latter video concluded with footage of Democratic lawmakers, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, kneeling in honor of George Floyd back in 2020.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, weighed in, suggesting that some protesters at the weekend rally were attempting to incite violence. He dismissed the video as mere “satire.”
A reporter probed Johnson, asking, “What does it mean that the president released a video of himself pooping on the American people?”
In response, Johnson commented on Trump’s use of social media, suggesting that he might be the most skilled at using it effectively. “He employs satire to convey his messages,” Johnson added.
This recent video comes on the heels of another instance where Trump humorously targeted Jeffries and Schumer regarding a government shutdown, featuring AI-generated visuals of Jeffries with a cartoonish mustache and sombrero, accompanied by audio making it seem like Schumer was criticizing his own party.
