Jelly Roll Celebrates Weight Loss Progress
Jerry Roll, the 40-year-old country musician, disclosed he has shed 200 pounds while still on his weight loss journey. During a recent visit with the Tennessee Titans, the Nashville native, who’s a devoted fan of the team, shared his health accomplishments while addressing the players at their training camp. It was kind of a surprise for everyone when he showed up to speak—the head coach, Brian Callahan, had invited him just before the team headed out for a preseason game.
In a lighthearted moment at the meeting, Jerry jokingly stated, “I can’t go to the field,” adding that he was “closed” due to his busy schedule. He expressed his excitement by saying, “I lost £200. If I lose another 50, I told my coach I had a contract,” while cheering on the players and staff.
Roll, who is training for a half marathon, talked about his transformation after dealing with weight-related issues. He has been open about facing online criticism in the past.
Representatives for Jelly Roll have yet to respond to requests for comments. Since his health journey began in December 2022, he has been giving frequent updates on his progress. Back in April, at Pat McAfee’s “Big Night AHT” event, he revealed he had lost 183 pounds, exclaiming, “I started with £540. I’m £357 this morning, I’m a baby!” He then added plans to lose another 100 pounds, mentioning he wanted to go skydiving with his wife, Bunnie XO, who he has been married to since 2016.
In an earlier conversation, Jelly Roll remarked on the challenges he encountered while trying to lose weight, pinpointing food as a major hurdle. He shared that it has been a constant struggle, stating, “If you’re really fighting obesity, you have to start at the dinner table, man. Fighting that addiction at the dinner table,” he noted, reflecting on his relationship with food.
Music has been a platform where Jerry Roll has been candid about his struggles with substance abuse and challenges with obesity. He explained, “The fight was about food addiction and changing the way I view food over the past 39 years.” He acknowledged that cultivating a healthy relationship with food was a tough process, but when he committed to discipline, it felt like an avalanche of progress.
In October 2024, Jelly Roll updated his followers through Instagram, acknowledging significant achievement in his weight loss journey, and celebrated surpassing the 100-pound loss mark. His trainer expressed pride in Roll’s progress, stating they were enjoying activities like walking, basketball, and boxing together.
Reflecting on his journey, Jerry Roll shared his desire to open up about his struggles, saying, “I want to be honest about my struggles with people. I’ve worn it for a long time.” He added, “I wanted to lose it in front of everyone. I wanted to talk about it… I want to take people with me.” This openness stems from his understanding of how difficult it can be for others facing similar challenges.
Looking ahead, he set a personal goal to be on the cover of “Men’s Health” by March 2026, emphasizing his commitment to achieving even greater milestones.
