Jennifer Aniston’s Iconic Hair and a Fun Q&A
Jennifer Aniston is quite famous for her beautiful blonde hair.
Her signature haircut, known as “The Rachel,” really defined the ’90s, leading many women to flock to salons.
In a light-hearted moment, Aniston teased, “Can I be a brunette?” during a comical Q&A session shared on the brand’s Instagram.
She joked about being a brunette, adding a hint of self-deprecation by calling her blonde hair “fake.” Then, her best friend and former Friends co-star, Courteney Cox, jumped in, playfully tossing her hair over Aniston. “See…this is what she looks like as a brunette,” she remarked.
Aniston quipped that her true hair color would be softer than Cox’s dark brown locks, remarking, “It’s black.” Looking in the mirror led her to recall the black wig she wore in Horrible Bosses.
“Oh, this is similar to the character I played in Horrible Bosses,” Aniston laughed, which prompted Cox to walk away, saying, “I love Horrible Bosses…you were a terrible dentist.”
As the playful banter continued, Aniston circled back to the question, pondering, “Did it work?…Was I a natural brunette?” Then, gesturing around her face, she admitted, “This is fake.”
Michael Canale, Aniston’s hair colorist, shared insights into the origins of “The Rachel” back in 2019. Collaborating with hairstylist Chris McMillan, he transformed her natural brown hair to a vibrant caramel blonde, thinking it would suit her for beach outings.
“Jennifer had medium brown hair, just past her shoulders. I decided to change her from natural brown to caramel blonde with feathery highlights,” he explained.
Canale also noted that while many celebrities are experimenting with various styles, Aniston has maintained a timeless appeal that never feels outdated.
Hairstylist Justin Anderson expressed his own nerves while working on Aniston’s iconic blonde look, humorously mentioning in the comments, “Even though I went brunette for a cake, I’ve never been so nervous about coloring my hair in my life.”
Fans chimed in as well, with one noting, “Jen Hair has her own fan club and yes I’m a member too!” Another commented, “Jen’s hair deserves its own spin-off show!”
That’s something many would love to watch.
