Jennifer Aniston shares rare insights on her 'vulnerable' divorce from Brad Pitt

Jennifer Aniston Reflects on Divorce and Media Pressure

Jennifer Aniston has recently shared that she experiences “PTSD” from the intense media attention surrounding her highly publicized divorce from Brad Pitt.

After Pitt and Aniston’s split, which involved Angelina Jolie, the actress recalled her first post-divorce interview with Vanity Fair in 2005, noting she hasn’t thought about it in quite some time. “Doing that interview was a bit uncomfortable,” she mentioned. “It was also a very fragile time for me. But, yeah, it was about memoirs.”

Aniston remarked on how journalism during that period felt almost like a competitive sport. “There’s obviously some PTSD for many of us. So, interviews can be quite frightening for me,” she added.

Reflecting on that tumultuous period in her life, which the media dubbed “The Love Triangle,” she described her approach to survival: “It was about picking myself up constantly.” She noted how intriguing it was for people, saying, “If they didn’t have their melodrama, then they just had their tabloids to entertain them. It’s a shame that things unfolded the way they did, but, well… I took it personally.”

Aniston acknowledged her struggle with the endless speculation surrounding her relationships at the time. “There are those who think we sign up for this lifestyle, but the truth is, we didn’t really agree to that kind of scrutiny,” she expressed.

Aniston and Pitt met in 1998, thanks to a mutual friend. They were engaged a year later and married in 2000, but their marriage ended in 2005 amid rumors connecting Pitt to Jolie, whom he met while filming “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”

After their split, Aniston continued to navigate her personal life, marrying Justin Theroux in 2015, after reconnecting during the making of “Wanderlust.” Their marriage ended amicably three years later. Despite their very public breakup, Aniston remained on cordial terms with Pitt. He even attended her 50th birthday celebration in 2019, and the two had a friendly reunion during a table read in 2020, which highlighted their past.

Recently, Pitt reportedly expressed happiness for Aniston regarding her new relationship with Jim Curtis. “Brad couldn’t be happier for Jen to have found love with someone who seems a good match for her,” shared a source close to Pitt. “Though their marriage ended with a lot of drama, he’s never lost his feelings for her.” The insider hopes the best for both, stating, “When you find the right partner, it makes all the difference.”
