Jennifer Garner and her family are mourning the loss of their beloved dog Birdie.
Garner posted a tribute to the dog on Instagram on Wednesday, a touching tribute to the family pet.
“It seems crazy to mourn the death of a pet when you think about the world, but since we shared Birdie with you, we thought it was only fair to announce her passing. “Deadpool & Wolverine” star wrote.

“Birdie let us know on Thursday that she wasn't feeling well (a well-known gourmand, she never missed a meal). “I was surprised to find out that not only was my life at an end,” she continued.

Earlier this year, Garner and Birdy YouTube channel WeRateDogs, They shared some sweet details ahead of the dog's 9th birthday, including that he's a therapy dog at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
“She wants to read new books for kids, and speaking of kids, Birdie is a therapy dog,” the 52-year-old said. “And she just got a promotion to work at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, so she's very excited. She wants to work at Children's Hospital Los Angeles for the first time before she's 9 years old.”

The mother of three children with ex-husband Ben Affleck, including Violet, Seraphina and Samuel, also opened up about how her family decided to get a dog.
Garner explained that she “decided she needed her own dog” when Violet was 2 years old, but said she had to wait until she was 10. “I thought he would forget because he was only 2 years old, but now he has Birdie.”
