Jennifer Lopez said she felt “relieved” after filing for divorce from estranged husband Ben Affleck.

Lopez filed for divorce on August 20, exactly two years after her Georgia wedding to Affleck.

“It was extremely hard on her when Ben chose to walk away from their marriage and leave her behind to move on with his own life,” the source said. people The magazine wrote, “She didn't want a divorce. She wanted to sort things out. They love each other. Jennifer is not the type to give up easily. The wait was almost like torture for her.”

“She seems relieved after filing for divorce,” the source added.

Lopez's family and friends agree that filing for divorce was “the right decision,” the source claimed. “She's surrounded by so much love and support. She's going to be fine. She's strong and she always wins.”

Representatives for Lopez and Affleck did not respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.

According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Lopez listed April 26 as the couple's separation date and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the separation. The “Love Don't Cost a Thing” singer chose to file the lawsuit without an attorney.

Lopez is “devastated” by her split from Affleck, a source told Fox News Digital.

The “Let's Get Loud” singer was fully committed to his marriage and wanted to make things work after the pair rekindled their romance, the source said.

Meanwhile, a separate source said Affleck appears to be doing well despite the end of his marriage, saying the Gone Girl star “gave up on it a long time ago.”

“Ben is in great spirits as always, he's busy with parenting and work and seems to be doing well,” another source claimed.

Rumors surrounding their marriage have dogged Hollywood executives for months.

“He started moving out some time ago,” a source previously told Fox News Digital. “The marriage is completely over and Jennifer is heartbroken. She loved her love and really wanted the relationship to work.”

A month later, the newlyweds wed in a ceremony attended by friends and family in the backyard of the $8 million Georgia mansion that Affleck bought when they first began dating 20 years ago.

Lopez and Affleck first met while filming “Giri” in 2002. The couple planned to marry in 2003, but postponed the wedding. By early 2004, the couple had called off their engagement.

They rekindled their romance in 2021, shortly after Lopez and MLB star Alex Rodriguez ended their relationship.
