Jennifer Lopez’s Life Changes in 2025
Pop star Jennifer Lopez experienced significant changes in 2025. She finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck, put their luxurious home back on the market, and purchased a new place for herself. Already, she’s focusing on the next chapter—sending her 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, off to university.
Although there are still a few months before her children leave home, Lopez, 56, expressed her preparations during the first night of her residency, “Up All Night Live in Las Vegas.” She’s already thinking ahead.
Reflecting on becoming an empty nester, Lopez shared that she only sees positives in this new phase of her life. She described her children going to college as part of an emotional “journey” the three of them have taken together. “I feel really good,” she said, noting how remarkable it is to reach this point. Being a single mother since they were three years old has shaped their experience deeply.
She hinted at the many shifts in her life and lightly referenced people who have come and gone along the way, saying, “People came in and out of my life, but it was really just the three of us.” It’s clear her children are blossoming into young adults ready to take on their lives.
Lopez expressed her excitement for Max and Emme’s futures. Regardless of where life takes them, she assured them they would always have a solid home to return to, emphasizing her goal of providing a supportive foundation. “I’m really excited about that because they know that this is a home for them to come back to,” she said, underscoring the importance of love and security in their lives.
Additionally, the singer shared a touching moment during her New Year’s Eve performance. Her twins joined her on stage, creating a memorable family moment amid the celebrations with fireworks lighting up the backdrop.
Beyond preparing for her children’s departure, Lopez is also navigating changes in her own life. She purchased a new home in California shortly after finalizing her divorce, one that she is now renovating to create a family haven.
While the renovations take place, she continues to reside in the lavish Beverly Hills mansion she shared with Affleck, which is on the market for $52 million after significant price reductions. Lopez recently hosted a Christmas gathering there, emphasizing her connection to the home as her family matures.
As 2025 rolls on, she hopes to finalize the sale of the property, which has had a challenging time on the market since the couple first listed it in July 2024 for $68 million. After nearly a year with no buyer, they dropped the price to entice potential buyers before relisting it more recently.
Even though reaching their asking price will still result in a financial loss, Lopez and Affleck have invested a lot into the property, including extensive renovations and a range of custom amenities. The mansion boasts 12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, and an expansive 38,000 square feet of living space on 5.2 acres in the upscale Beverly Crest area.
