Jennifer Lopez Emotional at Son’s Graduation

Jennifer Lopez was seen getting emotional during her son Max’s high school graduation ceremony on Friday.

Wearing a floral dress, a gray cardigan, and nude heels, she was photographed wiping away tears, a moment captured by Page Six.

Another image shows her embracing her son, the 18-year-old athlete, who was dressed in a tie-dyed shirt and tan pants for the occasion.

The day included family, with Lopez’s parents, Guadalupe Rodriguez and David Lopez, along with manager Benny Medina and Max’s twin sister, Emme, all present.

In another moment, Lopez and Emme walked together, with Emme sporting a red polo shirt and blue slacks. It’s worth noting that the musician’s ex-husband, Marc Anthony, didn’t attend the graduation. They share twins and were married for a decade before divorcing in 2014.

Interestingly, Anthony was not there for either of his children’s graduation ceremonies, including Emme’s last month.

Lopez had attended Emme’s ceremony alongside Rodriguez, Max, and former son-in-law Samuel Affleck. Photos from that event showed conversations between Emme and Ben Affleck’s son.

Lopez and Affleck wed in 2022 and continue to foster a close relationship with their respective children following their split earlier this year. Affleck has three kids—Samuel, Violet, and Finn—with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

During Emme’s graduation, it was announced that Emme would be adopting a new name. A recent Instagram post confirmed that Emme would be attending college as “Oscar Muniz,” along with a childhood photo.

Lopez has been open about her emotions through this transition, stating she had been “crying for two months” before Emme’s graduation. She expressed that her main focus is to ensure her children pursue their happiness.

Addressing the challenge of not spoiling her kids, she mentioned that setting a good example is vital. “They tend to mirror what they see,” she noted in a recent episode of a talk show.

In her conversations, Lopez shared an awareness that her children, despite being part of her world, want to carve out their own paths. “It’s about who you are as a person and how your actions influence them,” she remarked, highlighting the importance of setting a positive example rather than simply telling them what to do.
