Gavin Newsom’s Wife Criticizes Reporters
The wife of Governor Gavin Newsom, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, expressed her frustration with reporters during the signing of a Planned Parenthood funding bill. She accused them of being indifferent to what she described as the “terrible war on women” happening in the country.
In an interview that recently resurfaced online, Siebel Newsom shared her views about the influence of evangelicals, suggesting they are “holding us back as a country.” The interview took place in 2022 while she was discussing her documentary “Fair Play” at a local station.
She emphasized the importance of rethinking what it means to be “pro-life.” According to her, it should encompass a wider range of issues like prenatal care, universal health care, and child care, rather than just focusing on pregnancy.
Siebel Newsom also criticized individuals on the “far right,” stating they seem to be dragging the country backward. She pointed out that younger generations, especially young women and fathers of girls, are becoming increasingly aware and won’t allow this to continue. She noted a sense of hope and a strong responsibility for California to lead in this area.
During the Planned Parenthood bill signing, Siebel Newsom lamented that most of the questions from reporters focused on subjects other than women’s issues, which troubled her. She remarked on the apparent lack of concern for women-related concerns, raising questions about the ongoing challenges faced by women in the country.
She closed her remarks by urging those present to focus on why they were gathered there, emphasizing the need for recognition of women’s rights and issues in the current climate.
