Jenny McCarthy insists she will never go back to 'The View': 'Not in a million years'

It seems we won’t be seeing Jenny McCarthy on “The View” anytime soon.

During a recent episode of the podcast “The Katie Miller,” McCarthy, who also hosts “The Masked Singer,” reflected on her short time as a host from 2013 to 2014.

When asked if she’d consider returning to the show, she commented, “The reason they hired me is because—quote—they said it was too polarizing. At the time, I thought it was too polarizing, folks!”

She shared that her initial role was to provide light commentary on shows like “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Bachelor,” but that only lasted a week.

“I didn’t think of myself as a politician, which is why I believed I was ideal for the job,” McCarthy explained. “But when they wanted to shift to political discussions, I thought, ‘Oh my God, what am I going to do?'”

She previously mentioned that producers suggested she “act like a Republican,” although her views lean more conservatively.

Regarding the possibility of a reunion show, she stated, “I thought, would I ever step into that place? Over my dead body.”

McCarthy remarked that her perspectives have become more political over time, especially with the recent administration’s actions. “Back then? Oh, I didn’t mean to do that,” she said.

As one of the stable hosts during season 17, alongside Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, and Sherri Shepherd, she described her departure in a conversation with Andy Cohen, recalling, “They fired us all,” and added that she was actually hoping to be let go.

She recounted a moment when she learned of her firing, saying, “Shelly came into my locker room crying and said, ‘I just got fired.'” McCarthy reflected on her feelings of not wanting to be part of the scene anymore, noting a shift as several producers were also let go.

Ultimately, she received the call from her agent saying, “You’re next.” With a mix of relief and disbelief, she recalled thinking, “Thank God. It was a massacre.” Many were let go during that time.
