Jenny Slate Calls Out Justin Baldoni in Court Documents
Jenny Slate has made some strong accusations against Justin Baldoni, labeling her co-star and director in *It Ends With Us* as a “fraud” and expressing that the filming experience was “unsettling.”
In court documents from 2023, Slate noted that she and Blake Lively had raised concerns with Sony executives regarding Baldoni’s alleged inappropriate behavior on set. According to leaked texts obtained by TMZ, Slate stated, “This is a truly disturbing shoot and I’m not alone in feeling this way. Justin is really just a false ally, and I don’t want to support the ‘male feminist’ image he’s trying to create. I can’t find the right words to convey what a fraud he is.”
She continued, saying, “Honestly, I’ve never encountered anyone like him. He’s quite the clown and possibly the most intense narcissist I’ve ever seen.”
Who exactly received these messages remains unclear.
During her deposition in September 2025, Slate was also grilled about earlier texts sent to her agent. According to documents reviewed by Page Six, she urged Baldoni and his business partner, Jamie Heath, to “surprise me” and accused them of fabricating “bizarre lies.”
Slate expressed her feelings further in a text, saying, “Justin and Jamie are truly unfit. I’m not scared, just repulsed and very frustrated. I know Blake is feeling it much more deeply.”
In his testimony, Slate mentioned that Baldoni had awkwardly stated he looked “sexy” in his clothes, adding that it was okay since his wife was present.
Further documents, also obtained by Page Six, revealed that Lively accused Baldoni of making her feel sexualized by another actress on set, Isabella Ferrer, who played a younger version of Lively’s character. The allegations claimed Baldoni favored Ferrer, even encouraging her to get to know him better and implying sexual advances.
After filming a scene, Baldoni reportedly remarked, “I shouldn’t say this, but that was hot,” while both actors were in their underwear.
Lively’s lawyer pointed out that Baldoni, who once claimed in a Ted Talk that we need to “listen to women,” had a very different demeanor when faced with accusations against him.
As the trial approaches, it’s noted that only Lively’s claims remain active. New evidence reveals that concerns about Baldoni’s conduct were logged in real time during the production in early 2023, but efforts were allegedly made by his production company, Wayfarer, to downplay these issues. There are claims that they aimed to silence Lively and others who reported misconduct.
Representatives for Baldoni, Slate, and Ferrer have yet to respond to inquiries regarding these allegations.
Baldoni’s lawyer had previously dismissed the accusations against him, calling them unsubstantiated. In June 2025, he described the lawsuit as based on false claims of sexual harassment and retaliation.
Lively initiated her lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, citing various grievances, including sexual harassment and breach of contract. Baldoni countered with a $400 million lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, but that case was later dismissed.
A hearing is set for January 22, where the judge will consider Baldoni’s motion for summary judgment, which aims to dismiss some or all of Lively’s claims before it progresses to a jury trial.
