Jeremiyah Love scores wild Notre Dame touchdown

Jeremiah Love can't get it out of the end zone and scores a wild touchdown for the Fighting Irish in Notre Dame's Orange Bowl vs. Penn State on Thursday night He showed great effort.

Love's strong effort into the end zone early in the fourth quarter briefly gave Notre Dame its first lead of the game.

Living up to his team's reputation, the Fighting Irish running back took a handoff on first-and-goal and bounced off at least four tackles before diving into the end zone for a touchdown.

The play in itself would have been impressive enough, but it was a bit questionable for Love in the Orange Bowl, where the winner will advance to the national championship game against the winner of Ohio State vs. Texas on Friday night.

Love reinjured his right knee in the Fighting Irish's pre-Sugar Bowl win over Georgia and ended up in the medical tent twice.

Love returned to the sideline for that game but was wearing a knee brace.

The running back was not listed on Notre Dame's injury report Sunday, and head coach Marcus Freeman did not mention that Love was hit.

Love has had a huge impact on Notre Dame's run in the College Football Playoff this year, and has already had a memorable performance against Indiana.
