Jeremy Renner is considering legal measures in light of serious allegations made by filmmaker Yi Chou.
On Friday, the 54-year-old Marvel actor reportedly issued a cease and desist letter to Chou, 38, as confirmed by sources.
Renner, through his attorney Marty Singer, stated that during their initial meeting in July—intended to discuss her documentary, “The Chronicles of Disney”—Chou engaged in discussions with her.
However, in his letter, Renner described their interaction as a “consensual and brief encounter” and asserted he made it clear he wasn’t interested in a further sexual relationship when they met again in August.
To add to the complexity of the situation, Renner alleged that Chou couldn’t keep her hands to herself during a ride to the airport following their collaboration on a Disney project. He mentioned that she sent him numerous explicit messages even after they had parted ways.
In one message, Chou reportedly expressed, “I want him so, so, so badly inside me, f–k me, baby,” and in another she mentioned “playing with his ‘fake giant’ and ‘real giant.’
Renner maintains these claims are entirely fabricated. He acknowledged they shared a brief relationship but insisted that he never communicated any intent for it to develop into something more.
The allegations also included Chou’s alleged threats to “inflict public harm” if Renner didn’t promote her documentary, along with claims that she misrepresented their relationship as romantic.
Renner warned that if Chou continued to spread “false, fabricated and vile lies,” he might pursue legal action, which could result in substantial financial damages for her.
The news outlet has reached out to Renner’s representatives for further comments.
Earlier this week, Chou took to social media to air her grievances, accusing Renner of sending her unsolicited explicit images through various messaging platforms while they were supposedly developing a romantic connection during their film project.
Chou claimed that before a meeting at Renner’s Reno home, the atmosphere shifted drastically, as he allegedly consumed a bottle of wine and yelled for hours, leaving her frightened.
She also accused him of threatening to contact U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement when she confronted him about his behavior.
Chou explained her decision to speak out now stemmed from her need to find the courage to share her experiences, framing her narrative as one of enduring various forms of abuse.
Meanwhile, Renner’s legal team has strongly denied the allegations, describing them as “false, outrageous, and highly defamatory.” They asserted that Chou had harassed Renner over months without any reciprocation, apart from their brief encounter in July.
