Jeremy Renner Reflects on Near-Fatal Snowplow Accident

Jeremy Renner has opened up about the harrowing snowplow accident that nearly claimed his life on New Year’s Day 2023. Speaking in an interview to promote Season 4 of “The Mayor of Kingstown,” he recalled that day at his Lake Tahoe home, where he was almost crushed by a snowplow.

Renner emphasized the significance of such experiences, suggesting that pushing oneself to the limits can lead to profound changes. He stated, “I’ve been tested to my limits and I’ve come through. I know what it’s like to have a bad day,” and added that he hopes never to experience that again.

In a separate appearance on “The Tonight Show” in May 2024, he described the accident as a “great gift,” demonstrating a remarkable perspective on his ordeal. Following the incident, Renner spent the majority of 2023 recovering from severe injuries.

Body camera footage revealed that the 14,000-pound snowplow had “completely crushed” him. He was hit while trying to assist a vehicle stuck in the snow after a significant storm, which led to him being airlifted for urgent medical care.

Despite the challenges, Renner’s co-star, Edie Falco, was inspired by his resilience during filming. She noted the demanding working conditions they faced but remarked on how Renner’s spirit never wavered.

Looking ahead to the new season, Renner hinted at intense storylines and new characters that will shake up the narrative. “There’s a lot at stake this season,” he said, teasing a “roller coaster ride” for viewers.

The fourth season of “The Mayor of Kingstown” will premiere on Sunday, October 26, 2025, exclusively on Paramount+.
