Jerry Jones Thrilled by Quinnen Williams’ First Sack

Jerry Jones couldn’t help but smile as he witnessed Quinnen Williams bring down Geno Smith during the Cowboys-Raiders game on Monday night.

Watching from his suite at Allegiant Stadium, Jones was visibly excited as Williams recorded his first sack in a Cowboys uniform, following a midseason trade from the Jets.

With 12:35 left in the first half, the play marked a significant moment for the team and for Jones, who had invested quite a bit to bring Williams on board.

Williams celebrated the sack joyfully, dancing and sharing high-fives with his new teammates.

Acquiring Williams had come at a steep cost, with the Cowboys surrendering a second-round pick in 2026, a first-round pick in 2027, along with player Maji Smith.

By halftime, Williams had already racked up 1.5 sacks and 4 quarterback hits—impressive numbers that surpassed his entire season tally with the Jets, which was just 1.0 sack and 3 hits.

It seems Williams was somewhat unhappy during his last days with the Jets. After the trade, he opened up about his frustrations, saying, “I think the world knew that I was frustrated at being out there for so long and still losing. Any ultra-competitor who plays this game to win is going to be frustrated even if he wins 100 games and loses 100.”

The Cowboys improved their record to 4-5-1 with a solid 33-16 victory over the Raiders that night.

At the end of the day, this win surely added to Jones’s delight.
