Jerry Jones responds to the 'Thank you' cheers from Packers fans

Packs Are on the Rise with Parsons

The Green Bay Packers have kicked off the season on a high note, sitting at 2-0 after the acquisition of Mika Parsons, a top player from the Dallas Cowboys. Fans seem to be vocal about their excitement, even sending a shout-out to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

In a surprising trade, the Packers secured Parsons less than two weeks into the NFL season after contract negotiations didn’t pan out. With two wins already, the Packers are rapidly climbing the ranks of Super Bowl contenders this year.

Last Thursday, following a victory over the Washington Commanders, Parsons found himself in an interview where fans chanted “Thank you, Jerry.” This clearly caught Jones’s attention, prompting him to discuss the situation on ESPN New York Radio.

“I smiled,” he said, reminiscing about hearing similar cheers during their first game against the Detroit Lions. He acknowledged that trading away a top player inevitably leads to reactions from fans.

“When you let go of one of the best players in the NFL, you’re going to hear about it,” he added, with a hint of understanding.

Jones didn’t shy away from acknowledging the unique talents he traded away but insisted that the return was simply too good to ignore. “The multiple players we brought in are far more likely to help us chase a championship than one player ever could,” Jones explained.

He seems to genuinely appreciate Parsons, having enjoyed watching him alongside his mother during the latter’s final preseason game. For Jones, the trade was straightforward, framed as business decisions henceforth.

So far, Parsons boasts 1.5 sacks in his first two games as a Packer, and looking ahead, he’s set to take on the Cleveland Browns in week three. It’s still early in the season, but there’s a lot to watch as this story unfolds.
