last weekend Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones said there was “no urgency” to reach a deal with star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who is set to miss training camp while the two sides negotiate a contract extension. Jones’ comments drew skepticism from across the football world, including a curt “lol” response from receivers on social media.
That prompted the Dallas owner to try to walk back his comments on Sunday.

“I completely understand the anxiety that comes with worrying about what someone might say about whether they miss you. And yes, we miss you, Sheedy,” the Dallas owner said.
To emphasize that last point, Jones turned and tried to address the camera and Lamb directly as he made his final remarks.
Jones then tried to frame his comments about the lack of “urgency” with the fact that even if Lamb had practiced with the team, he would not play Sunday because the team didn’t want to risk an injury to him before the season began. Jones noted that Dak Prescott, who is in contract extension negotiations, will not play against the Rams.
As of press time, Lamb has yet to respond to Jones’ update on social media.
