Jerry O’Connell’s Yoga Class Theft: A Unusual Incident

Jerry O’Connell, at 51, recently found himself in a bit of a pickle during a yoga class in Los Angeles. While he was probably hoping for some tranquility, he ended up dealing with a theft.

The host of “Pictionary” reported that an unidentified woman snagged his belongings while he was focused on his practice. O’Connell described the thief as a “yoga bandit.” He had concealed his phone and wallet in his shoes, as he often does before classes, but this time, they were taken.

According to him, this woman had, somewhat strangely, asked to use the studio restroom, claiming she was running late for the session. After the class ended, he discovered that his items—cash included—had vanished.

“I’ve done this a hundred times without an issue,” he reflected, admitting that he often stashes his wallet and phone in his old sneakers. Surprisingly, he felt at ease even after the incident, reasoning that a yoga studio seemed like the least likely place for theft. “If there’s one place I should feel safe, it’s here,” he quipped.

Authorities in Los Angeles were alerted, and it seems security footage caught the woman in the act. O’Connell noted her distinctive features—pigtails and yoga attire—as she assured others that she was hurrying to class.

The suspect reportedly got away with nearly $500 from a department store, as well as other charges at a gas station. This wasn’t a standalone incident; it appears she has a history of pilfering at yoga studios.

O’Connell later mentioned a few sentimental items that vanished with his wallet, like a photo of his wife, Rebecca Romijn, from high school, and a $2 bill gifted to him while filming “Stand by Me.” He also lamented the loss of his Powerball lottery ticket, which could have potentially changed everything.

Despite the theft, he remained light-hearted, joking about his situation. “If luck strikes with that ticket, who knows?” he mused. Thankfully, the incident didn’t discourage him from returning to class; he made it back the very next day, sending a shout-out to his yoga instructor.
