Jerry Rice confronts golf heckler in surprising moment: 'Which one?'

Jerry Rice Still Has It

At 63, Jerry Rice is proving he still has some speed. Last week, during the American Century Championship in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada, the Hall of Fame receiver didn’t hesitate to chase after a heckler who shouted “Fore!”

In a clip that quickly gained traction online, Rice was waiting for a car when a comment from the crowd rang out, followed by the yell from an off-screen fan. It’s a bit unclear exactly when during the event, which ran from July 8th to 12th, this happened.

Having heard the heckle, Rice initially turned towards the fans before heading back onto the course, visibly determined not to let it go unnoticed.

As he walked toward the hecklers, he playfully called out, “Hey, yo, hey, hey,” prompting one of the fans to cheer him on with, “Jerry, get him!”

He then ducked under a boundary marker and really started running, still clutching his golf club and shouting, “Which way? Which way?” A fan responded with “Green and blue,” and suddenly, all the attention was on Rice as the crowd buzzed with excitement.

Though he seemed to catch up with the heckler or group of fans, the person filming stayed a bit further back. Eventually, Rice made his way back to the course, and the fans welcomed him like a hero, clapping and shouting things like, “Jerry, I love you!” and “I’ve got your back.”

With a smile, he waved to the cheering crowd on his return.

This isn’t the first time Rice has found himself in a bit of a stir at the American Century Championship. There was that incident in 2024 when, during a practice round, he had a rather bold exchange with a reporter regarding a Chiefs player.

Rice, who holds the NFL record for receiving yards at 22,895 and is a three-time Super Bowl champion, ended up finishing 42nd out of 90 participants in this year’s event. The championship was won by former tennis player Mardy Fish, while Stephen Curry placed third.
