Jerry Seinfeld calls into live radio show after hosts slam iconic sitcom

Jerry Seinfeld is always listening.

The “Seinfeld” star appeared on a live radio show in New York after the host criticized the hit 90s sitcom. When WFAN host Chris McMonigle brought up the “Seinfeld” episode on a Nov. 12 sports broadcast, producer Paul Rosenberg called it one of the “few” good episodes.

The 70-year-old actor didn't take long to set the record straight.

“I'm hearing that the great Jerry Seinfeld was actually listening and calling,” McMonigle said on the broadcast. “I hope we can honor his honor here.”

Seinfeld gave his opinion on the sitcom and compared it to one of New York's favorite sports teams, the New York Giants.

“I'm not arrogant enough to think that everyone is going to like what I'm doing.” seinfeld said of the program. “I just wanted to let you know that I don't mind. I'm fine with that. One out of two is fine with me.”

“Look, we made 180 episodes,” he added. “Three guys are good players. We're like the Giants.”

Seinfeld began his stand-up comedy career in 1976 and went on to star in his own television show for nine seasons. The comedian tried his hand at film as a director for the first time. “Unfrosted” premiered in May.
