Jesse Hutch has spent more than 20 years in the acting industry, but a rapid-fire accident that left him underwater for at least 11 minutes nearly ended his career before it began.
“I'd rather be dead,” Hatch told Crosswalk Headlines.
Hatch can be seen in three new projects this month: Angel Studios' new film and accompanying television series. homesteadthe Great American Family movie. Christmas under the aurora borealis and little women's christmas.
But to this day, Hutch considers it a “miracle” that he's even alive.
In his youth, Hutch was a whitewater raft guide who, in his words, lived and worked on the river. However, at the age of 21, his life almost ended due to an accident in which both his heart and breathing stopped. Rescue workers estimate he was in the water for 11 to 22 minutes.
“Another group that was going down the river found me and dragged me into the raft,” he said.
People in that group did their best to revive him. within a few minutes, he was taken To the hospital.
“God absolutely Just being with me,” Hatch said.
He remembers being underwater in rapids, realizing he was about to drown.
“I heard the sound of water. I heard my heartbeat. My heart stopped. Then I heard the sound of water. Then I couldn't hear anything, and then it went black,” he said. Ta. “And after that, [I] I have no idea what happened or where I was for how long. ”
He described it as “the scariest time of my life” but also The person with “the most peace”.
“As humans, we can get attached to so many things sometimes, and we think, 'I can do it, I get it, it's in my power and my strength.' I am.' [But] In that scenario, I'm done. I had nothing left. … [I] I accepted the fact that I was dead. I end. I can't go back from here. ”
But God had other plans for Hutch.
