gucci celebrates the opening of its renovated downtown digs and the launch of Sabato de Sarno’s new Ancora collection. bella festa Half of Hollywood is in attendance.
SoHo’s trendy 63 Wooster Street has seen guests including Jessica Chastain, Elliot Page, Jodie Turner-Smith, Iris and Maude Apatow, Beanie Feldstein, Natasha Lyonne, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Kingsley Ben-Adir. Guests enjoyed champagne, cocktails, Milanese-style snacks and a performance by DJ and musician Romy Madley Croft, whose hit song “Lovehar” made De Sarno’s Ancora runway debut in September.
Guests were presented with a Gucci Ancora Manifesto poster and a vinyl copy of Madley Croft’s album ‘Mid Air’ in an Airstream wrapped in Gucci Ancora Rosso, the collection’s dark red. In the days leading up to the bash, the vehicle drove around New York, handing out hot drinks, flowers and Gucci Ancora postcards to fans.
This art-filled boutique is housed in a 155-year-old landmark building that spans an entire city block. A former pencil factory, its contemporary interior features iconic Italian furniture by Cassina, B&B and Minotti.
The store carries women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and shoes, jewelry and accessories, as well as Gucci Valigeria’s signature luxury luggage line. The new spring collection includes limited edition pieces, including an acid green version of the Jackie Notte bag.
The Gucci Wooster Bookstore, overseen by Dashwood Books, has also been renovated and now has its own entrance at 375 West Broadway. The bookstore will be exhibiting “Gucci Prospettive 1: Milano Ancora”, the first volume in a series that conveys De Sarno’s artistic vision.
