Jessica Sanchez Shines on AGT Despite Being Nine Months Pregnant
Jessica Sanchez, a talented singer on America’s Got Talent, has been captivating audiences not only with her incredible voice but also with her inspiring personal journey. At 30 years old, she is currently nine months pregnant, yet she continues to impress the judges and the audience. Her faith, she says, has provided her with the strength needed to carry on through this challenging time.
This week, Sanchez received a standing ovation after performing JVKE’s song, Golden Hour. Viewers’ votes will determine who progresses to the finals, which adds an extra layer of suspense to her journey.
“I keep telling my baby, ‘Stay there another week,’” she mentioned after her semi-final performance.
“I am very blessed and grateful,” she added.
Her performance left an impression on the judges as well. Mel B praised her vocals, comparing her range to that of Mariah Carey and noting the magic in her singing. Sanchez previously earned a “golden buzzer” from Judge Sofia Vergara, which means she moved directly to the live shows, bypassing the typical voting process.

“You’re getting better and better—it’s perfect,” Vergara told her during an earlier judging session. Simon Cowell also called her “an absolute star.”
Her experience on America’s Got Talent is particularly significant, especially since she originally advanced during the very first season back in 2006, hosted by the late Regis Philbin. She was the runner-up on the 2012 season of American Idol and, as she noted, has faced challenges in her music career since then.
“For years, I lost the love for music because I was trying to fit into what everyone else wanted from me,” she shared. “Now, I know what I want, and I’m really excited to be back.”
In her current platform, she aims to inspire others to be open about their faith. “It seems like people nowadays are more willing to share their beliefs,” she observed, noting a positive change happening in society.
“You can see this breakthrough not just on stage but also in our communities,” she stated.
Looking ahead to the finals, Sanchez expresses a humble attitude. While she admits that winning would be great, what matters more to her is the journey. “I have learned to pray, ‘Lord, let me do your will,’ and to seek mental strength through this process,” she said.
