Jessica Simpson on Life After Divorce

Jessica Simpson, 45, has shared that she isn’t feeling down about her divorce from Eric Johnson, whom she announced her split from in January. A few months later, she mentioned her interest in dating younger men. “I think I’m interested in younger men now,” she said in a recent interview. “Younger men tend to match the confidence of older women, especially after a separation, I’ve found.” With a hint of humor, she added, “It’s fun.”

Simpson recently attended the premiere of “All’s Fair,” a film where she makes a cameo. She mentioned sharing scenes with Naomi Watts and Kim Kardashian but primarily plays Rick Springfield’s love interest. Joking about her role, she said, “I had to get really dirty with ‘Jesse’s Girl.’ It was interesting. I’ve never dated a guy that old before, but it wasn’t terrible.” The actress and fashion designer stood out on the red carpet, donning a striking black latex dress that featured a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit.

Reflecting on her choice of attire, Simpson quipped, “After I put it on, I had to oil it all over. I usually keep my latex in my bedroom, but tonight I brought it out for the red carpet.”

She announced her separation from Johnson after a decade of marriage, stating, “Eric and I have been separated and worked through some tough times in our marriage. Our children come first, and we care about what’s best for them. We appreciate all the love and support we have received and value our privacy at this time as we work through this situation together as a family.”

Simpson and Johnson share three children: daughters Maxwell and Birdie, and son Ace. Despite the challenges, she aims to focus on positivity. Reflecting on her experiences this past summer, she said, “I choose love because if I choose to be resentful or overwhelmed by the pain, I fail. So I had to choose to love and to love people through their mistakes. If you’re going to love through your mistakes, you have to love others through their mistakes. That’s probably the biggest lesson I’ve learned.”
