Jessica Simpson has a girls’ night after slamming drinking speculation

Jessica Simpson enjoyed a girls’ night out in LA after denying rumours she had started drinking again.

The “Irresistible” hitmaker was spotted leaving Italian restaurant Mother Wolf in Hollywood on Thursday, looking happy as she flashed a smile for photographers and waved as she left in a black SUV with a friend.

Simpson, 44, looked her best for the late dinner, wearing a silk pink dress decorated with whimsical black floral print.

She paired the outfit with strappy animal print sandals, a black lace duster and an oversized silver bag.

Simpson added depth to her layered look with a turquoise necklace, several rings, and oversized silver hoop earrings.

Earlier this week, the fashion designer hit back at trolls who accused her of being drunk after posting a photo of her 11-year-old son, Jace, on Instagram.

“Please stop drinking!” the user boldly wrote underneath the black and white photo.

“I have not craved or consumed alcohol since October 2017. This was the best decision for myself and my family,” Simpson replied.

“[Thank you] Sorry to trouble you, but you have greatly misunderstood me.”

The Instagram user responded to Simpson’s comment with a profuse apology, writing, “I’m so happy to hear that!! Sorry for the misunderstanding.”

In his 2020 memoir, “Open Book,” the “Dukes of Hazzard” star revealed that he had been addicted to drugs and alcohol.

She said she decided to quit drugs after drinking too much at a Halloween party and being unable to undress her children.

She said she hit rock bottom in 2017 after drinking too much at a Halloween party and not being able to dress her kids properly. After that incident, she decided to change her life.

Since then, the “With You” singer has publicly celebrated his sobriety milestone.

In 2021, Simpson marked four years of sobriety by sharing an “unrecognizable” snapshot of herself taken in November 2017 looking bloated and cranky.

“I knew that in this moment I had reclaimed my light, won the inner battle with my self-worth, and could face the world with sharp clarity,” she wrote in a lengthy caption at the time.

“What I really needed to do in my life was to actually embrace failure, pain, ruin, and self-destruction. The drinking wasn’t the problem. I was the problem.”

She continued, “I didn’t love myself. I didn’t respect my power. But now I do. I’ve learned to live with my fears and embrace the sad parts of life.”

“I use my power with the courage of my soul. I am very honest and comfortable and open. I am free.”

Simpson posted the same photo last year to mark six years of sobriety.

The mother-of-three, who also has daughters Maxwell, 12, and Birdie, five, with husband Eric Johnson, as well as Jace, is reportedly planning a return to music.
