Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Tuesday that injured defensive starters linebacker C.J. Mosley and cornerback D.J. Reed are “recovering well.”
But he essentially listed both players as questionable for Thursday night's home game against the Patriots.
“What's 50/50?” Saleh said before practice. “Everything is 50/50. … We might even have some game-day training.”
Reid missed Sunday's game against the Titans because of a knee injury, while Mosley was diagnosed with a sprained right big toe and left in the first half.
After practice, Mosley said X-rays showed “no visible fractures” and that “it's just a matter of pain management.”

“I was lucky, but I took a pretty bad knock,” Mosley added. “The more I can bounce back from that, the more confident I'll be getting back on the field.”
Nickelback Michael Carter's ankle injury “will be on and off, but he should be OK,” Saleh said.
Saleh said Jamien Sherwood would take over for Mosley as the defense's primary play-caller if Mosley, a five-time Pro Bowl middle linebacker, is unable to play.
“Sherwood is our Mike. We have a lot of confidence in Sherwood,” Saleh said. “Jamien and I get on really well. He's had a great development as a professional football player.”
“I'm confident he'll command the defense and make the checks we need. He's got a great mind and great communication skills, so I'm not worried about the plays at all.”
Aaron Rodgers argued Tuesday on his weekly pay-per-view segment on “The Pat McAfee Show” that Creed is “one of the greatest rock bands of all time.”
He later joked that this was “the most controversial discussion I'm having today,” but at the end of his appearance he said that he and McAfee could “stir things up again” next week.
