The Jets' search for a new system is heating up.
Gang Green announced Tuesday that it has completed general manager and head coaching interviews with Luis Riddick and Ron Rivera.
Rivera was the first person to interview for the head coaching job after the team fired Robert Saleh in October and named Jeff Ulbrich as interim bench boss.
The 62-year-old began his coaching career as an assistant with the Bears in 1997, but is best known for his stints with the Panthers (2011-19) and Washington Football Team/Commanders (2020-23). ) as head coach twice.
He has won the Associated Press Head Coach of the Year Award twice (2013 and 2015) with the Panthers, the latter coming the year he led the team to a 15-1 record and a Super Bowl appearance.
He didn't reach the same heights in Washington, winning a division title without hitting above .500 before being fired after the 2023 season.
Riddick becomes the fourth candidate to interview for the GM job, which is currently being held by Phil Savage on an interim basis, after the Jets met with Thomas Dimitroff, Jon Robinson and Jim Nagy.
Riddick, 55, who spent six years as a defensive back in the NFL, has worked in executive positions with both Washington and the Eagles, most recently as Philadelphia's director of pro personnel from 2010 to 2013.
Riddick currently works for ESPN for the past 10 years as an analyst, both in the broadcast booth and at the studio desk.
The search was led by Jets owner Woody Johnson and supported by football think tank The 33rd Team, which is helping the team vet and coordinate candidates for the open position.
The group was founded by former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
