ORLANDO, Fla. — Robert Saleh doesn’t expect Aaron Rodgers to campaign this fall, but rather to come to Florham Park.
Saleh spoke for the first time at Monday’s NFL owners meeting since it was reported that Rodgers, the Jets quarterback, could be chosen as Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s vice presidential running mate. .
Saleh was asked about his reaction to the news.
“I didn’t have it,” Saleh said.
The Jets don’t seem to consider Rodgers entering politics a serious possibility.
“I think in the political world, at least, it was viewed a little differently than in our world,” Saleh said.
Rodgers is in California rehabbing from an Achilles injury that sidelined his 2023 season.
Saleh said Rodgers is motivated to return in 2024.
“Aaron, I know he’s on a mission,” Saleh said. “I don’t want to speak for him. He’s working hard in California. He communicates with us frequently, if not every day. Knowing Aaron, , he’s on a mission to do a lot of the things he wanted to do last year, and he’s not going to stop until he gets them done.”
The Jets will begin their offseason program next month.

Saleh said it was hoped that Rogers would be cleared by doctors to participate.
“I expect him to be available by spring,” Saleh said. “As you know, OTAs are a 7-on-7 camp, so he should be able to do all those things. We’ll be communicating with him more as we get closer in the next few weeks.”
