The Jets hired Darren Mousey to pair with new head coach Aaron Glenn on Friday, completing their long search for a new general manager, the Post confirmed.
Mousey has been the Broncos' assistant GM since 2022.
The 39-year-old has been with the Broncos since 2012, rising from scouting intern to assistant GM.
Mousey has worked under two different GMs: John Elway and current boss George Payton.
He was part of the team that won the Super Bowl in 2015 and helped the Broncos return to the playoffs this season despite having a league-high $89 million in dead money on the salary cap.
This number reduced the margin of error in the team's offseason moves, and the front office couldn't afford to make too many mistakes.
The Arizona native attended San Diego State University, where he became teammates with Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell.
Mousy is 6 feet 6 inches tall and is said to have a commanding presence when he walks into a room.
He is known for his excellent communication skills and has had six different head coaching positions in Denver.
The Jets hired Glenn as their new head coach on Wednesday.
It's unclear if Glenn and Mousey have any connection beyond working with Broncos coach Sean Payton, and Glenn working with him in New Orleans.
The Jets interviewed 15 candidates to become general manager.
Mousy was first interviewed on January 11th.
He had a second interview on Thursday.
The team also interviewed Bengals senior personnel officer Trey Brown and Commanders assistant general manager Lance Newmark for a second time.
