Jets have a chance for a second-half turnaround in tough Cardinals matchup

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Jets aren't dead.

The Jets come to the desert on Sunday with barely any playoff hopes left.

The Jets (3-6), who snapped a five-game losing streak with a strong second half against the Texans, are currently aiming for a winning streak and a second-half comeback to advance to the postseason.

This won't be an easy task, as the Cardinals (5-4) have won three straight and sit atop the NFC West.

However, the Jets regained new confidence after defeating the Texans, scoring three touchdowns in the second half and proving their offense.

“I think the weight has been lifted,” quarterback Aaron Rodgers said. It was there all the time, so I had to find a way to carry it with me every day.

“The key thing for young players to learn is that consistency starts the moment you walk into the building, and that everything you do has to be intentional, and that starts with your conversations, the time you go to work, the way you do things. You're all taking notes and we're starting to do some things right, but it's still a work in progress. ”

The Jets were relaxed Friday, dancing on the practice field as they gathered to start the session.

There was a belief around the team this week that we could win this game and get back on track.

They'll need to do that if they want to end their playoff drought. There is still hope for them as there are a lot of bad teams in the AFC this season.

But for the Jets, this isn't about looking at the scoreboard or wondering who's ahead on the schedule. It's all about the work we do in the second half of this week's game against Houston.

“If you want to be a great team, you have to practice like a great team, and I think we practiced a lot better the last few weeks,” Rodgers said. If we can take it another notch, and I'm sure we will, then I think that consistency will show on game day. But it's not just about getting out of bed and making a great play, you've got to practice the right way, and I think it helps that I'm the same today and I think this week as well, so it's good to be able to practice the right way. , that's when you can play 60 minutes the right way. ”
