Jets Unveil New “Gotham City Football” Jersey

The Jets have introduced their latest jersey, inspired by the iconic Batman theme.

On Thursday, the team revealed the “Gotham City Football” design, set to debut during a December 7 game against the Dolphins at Metlife Stadium, part of the NFL’s Rival program.

While the uniforms feature darker hues rather than the usual green, “Gotham City Football” is prominently displayed behind the helmet padding.

This new jersey also showcases a jet logo against a black background.

Chris Pierce, vice president of Jets’ fan commerce, commented, “It quickly became clear that the Gotham City Football had a distinct direction for its rival uniform.” He mentioned that the design incorporates elements reflecting the atmospheric streets of New York City.

“The iconic NYC manhole pattern on the shoulders and references to the city’s background are strong visuals that encapsulate the resilience and hard work of its residents,” he added, expressing pride in the team’s new additions.

The Rivalry program, launched this year by Nike and the NFL, is designed to “celebrate local heritage and unite fans with unique designs representing their city and team.”

This initiative focuses on AFC East and NFC West teams, with the Jets being among the first to showcase these jerseys.

The Dolphins will sport similar uniforms against the Jets on September 29, with the Patriots following on November 13.

These jerseys will remain in the team’s lineup for the next three years.

The Jets promoted this release in a video that certainly channels the Batman vibes reminiscent of the Christopher Nolan films.

The narrator emphasized the connection to the city, stating, “Our origins are deeply tied to New York. This city represents not just a place; it’s a community shaped by resilience.” They closed with, “This is Gotham City Football.”
