Jets’ ‘losing problem’ starting to weigh on Garrett Wilson

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Garrett Wilson has lost 10 games in each of his three seasons with the Jets, going 7-10, 7-10 and 3-10 (and beyond).

“You get things going in the fourth quarter and all of a sudden you start to feel like you're losing,” Wilson said after scoring 32 points for the Dolphins and 26 for the Jets in OT. “It’s like you have a gene or something.

“We don’t go out there and give it our all from start to finish… No, no, no, we have a chance to win the game and we should win the game. The odds are in our favor and we We find ways to lose games. So it's just frustrating for sure.”

He was asked if it was a mindset.

“No, it's not the mindset, it's the opposite, and it's one thing to be able to think correctly. It's another thing entirely to be able to match your actions with the way you think,” Wilson said. Ta.

Even in the shadow of Jalen Ramsey, Wilson (7 catches for 114 yards) and Davante Adams (9-109, 1 TD) gave Aaron Rodgers a chance to win.

Instead, the Jets were eliminated from the playoffs for the 14th consecutive year.

“At the end of the day, we have to stop being losers,” Wilson said.

“It's only been a year or a few years,” Adams said. “It's just weird. Normally you work hard just like the rest of us and that should lead to wins. It might be a little demoralizing, but regardless of the situation or the record, at the moment our pride I'm just trying to get my mindset out there that I'm playing for.”

Adams tries hard to be the voice of reason and wisdom.

“It's really hard to win and it was really close a lot of times,” he said. “Some people get more irritated when you're right there. But all you can do is control your own play, control the score, complain about the score, and not complain about it later. You can't cry about it. You'll figure it out within 60 seconds and at the end of those 60 minutes, the team that gets the most will be the happiest.”

Or 60 minutes plus.

“If you look at the stats, I think it was a good game, but at the end of the day, it was the plays that remained on the field. We didn't rely on defense, we didn't rely on defense, and we were able to win the game.” It's a chance to do what he ultimately did,” Wilson said. “We have to make that decision. There is no moral victory in this.

“Winning in the offseason is winning in the offseason, winning in training camp is winning in training camp. Win when it matters.”
