Jets Player Kris Boyd Shot in New York: Investigation Underway

Kris Boyd, a player for the New York Jets, is currently hospitalized after being shot, as teammates express their support and police continue to search for the shooter.

The incident took place early Monday morning around 2:06 a.m. ET outside the Say Less restaurant and bar in midtown Manhattan. Boyd suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen and, according to police, is in serious but stable condition.

Reports indicate Boyd is being treated at Bellevue Hospital. Authorities have released two photos of a potential suspect involved in the shooting.

Teammates have been keeping Boyd in their thoughts during practice. Defensive end Harrison Phillips mentioned that they are relieved to hear he is stable, especially considering the initial panic surrounding the news. “Many prayers were answered,” Phillips added. “It’s a difficult situation, but knowing he’s okay brings a bit of comfort.”

Tight end Jeremy Ruckert also shared his concern, calling the news shocking and urging everyone to come together in support of Boyd and his family. “I hope everything goes well for him,” Ruckert said.

Police descriptions of the suspect include a male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing dark clothing and carrying a black backpack. Unfortunately, there are no specifics on the suspect’s identity as of yet.

Boyd joined the Jets from the Houston Texans earlier in the offseason and has been on disabled reserve since August.
