“If we don’t trade him, we’re going to keep him,” Johnson said, adding that “it’s possible” Wilson could learn from Aaron Rodgers next season.

“I feel bad for Zach in a way because he would have had a great result last year. It would have been the first time for him to sit back and watch the masters work, and he never had that. ” added Johnson.
“He’s been in the fire from day one. I think that’s what he needs. He needs to be in a place where he can be observed for a while. He’s got the skills. He can do anything. I think that’s what he needs. There’s a reason why we drafted him No. 2 overall, and I’m confident he can get there one day.”
But Johnson admitted it would be “better” for Wilson to move on.

During the last month NFL Honors, Johnson appeared to take aim at Wilson while discussing the quarterback position and the team’s offensive struggles. On Monday, he appeared to clarify those comments, saying the blame doesn’t lie solely on the quarterback.
“The quarterback is just one player. The quarterback, including Zach, can’t play without the line, and without the line, it’s hard to run the ball, and it’s hard to protect the quarterback. So, it’s the quarterback. We need your cooperation. ”
