Bill Stevenson, first husband of first lady Jill Biden, said after watching President Joe Biden’s interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos that it’s clear he has “more serious issues.”
In an interview, Stevenson said, New York Post He said he wanted Biden to take a “cognitive test,” before adding that he hoped Biden would stay in the presidential race and “lose to Trump.” In his interview with Stephanopoulos, Biden claimed that the six days he spent at Camp David before the presidential debate were not enough time for him to recover from his ill health, and he did not seem to remember whether he watched the debate, saying, “I don’t think I watched it.”
During the interview with Stephanopoulos, which aired Friday night, Biden was also asked several times whether he had taken cognitive tests, to which Biden said he had not because “nobody told me to,” and declined to take independent cognitive tests, saying he takes them “every day.”
“I would like him to take a cognitive test,” Stevenson told the outlet. “George has asked him three or four times. It’s something the whole world is thinking. It’s a shame this guy is the kind of person who can’t make a decision in the middle of the night.”
Mr. Stevenson, who was married to Jill from 1970 to 1975, added that the president’s interview with Mr. Stephanopoulos “makes it clear that Joe Biden has deeper problems.”
“I actually hope Biden stays in the race and loses to Trump,” Stevenson added. “That’s what’s best for the country. My life was better under Trump, the economy was better, everything was better.”

Biden’s performance in last week’s presidential debate with former President Donald Trump sent Democrats, media members, donors and voters into a state of panic, raising the idea of replacing Biden and doubts about whether he could serve another term.
House Democrats and donors have called on Biden to “stand down” and withdraw from the presidential race, but Biden and his campaign insist he is in the race and has no plans to drop out.
