In an interview with Fox News, Michaels scoffed at the idea that such a large fire is “unprecedented.”
“No, it's not unprecedented,” she said. “California burns down every year.”
Michaels later criticized Newsom's response to a tearful resident who asked if it would be different next time.
“Oh, definitely,” she said, mocking Newsom. “This time had to be different, Gavin.”
“We haven't proposed one,” Michaels said, referring to the California Water Commission's Proposition 1, which was passed in 2014 and allocated $2.7 billion for water storage projects. [water reservoir] was built. ”
