I may be a little biased, but Jim Harbaugh rates JJ McCarthy very highly.
The duo just won their first national championship since 1997 last month against the University of Michigan.
Now, both players will be playing in the NFL this season. McCarthy declared for the draft immediately after winning it all, and Harbaugh signed as the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.

McCarthy’s draft stock is a bit shaky, but many believe he will be a first-round pick.
But Harbaugh took it a step further.
“Let me make a prediction,” Harbaugh said. “Rich Eisen Show” “Don’t be surprised if he moves up the board to be the No. 1 quarterback.”
That would obviously mean McCarthy replacing Caleb Williams, who has been the consensus No. 1 pick for over a year. McCarthy is also part of a stacked quarterback class that includes Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix.
But there’s an IT element to McCarthy, Harbaugh said.

“When people see him pitch in person, when they see him run, when they do interviews, they notice that athleticism and really start digging into how this young guy is wired. “And he’s only 21 years old. Mark my words, stop it.” I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up being probably the No. 1 quarterback. ”
Soon-to-be former University of Michigan running back Blake Collum also spoke highly of McCarthy when he spoke with Fox News Digital last month.
“JJ is just a great quarterback,” Colm said. “I want to learn, I want to get better, and I won’t stop until I do that. No matter what round he gets drafted, he’s definitely a first-rounder, I think he’s a great quarterback, he’s a great leader.”
But like Harbaugh, Colm took it a step further.
“I think he’s going to have a very long career, probably. tom bradylet’s take a look,” he said.

In two seasons (29 games) as a full-time starter at Michigan, McCarthy completed 68.5 percent of his passes for 5,710 yards, 44 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.
