Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) expressed strong views on major immigration concerns during a discussion on Breitbart News Daily, suggesting that the left aims to “undermine America” through their policies.
Host Mike Slater highlighted the stance of Democrats opposing the Trump administration’s initiatives to control illegal immigration. As the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Jordan mentioned that examining sanctuary cities across the country provides insight into the potential outcome of Democratic policies.
“Sanctuary jurisdictions are perhaps the best example,” he noted, stating that roughly one-third of the U.S. population resides in areas where local officials discourage cooperation with federal authorities on immigration enforcement, particularly concerning illegal migrants who have committed further crimes.
Jordan elaborated, “Entering the country illegally isn’t the only crime these individuals face. They’re already in jail for another offense. When authorities send a detainer notice to the jail, asking to be notified before someone is released, the response often is a flat refusal. It feels like federal law enforcement is being pushed aside,” he claimed, asserting that this reflects a strategic agenda from the left.
According to him, this plan has progressed through specific steps. “Step one was evident during the Biden administration: allowing ten million illegal migrants to enter the country. Step two involved creating sanctuary areas, complicating the apprehension of these individuals when they commit additional crimes. Step three was cutting funds for those responsible for apprehensions, such as ICE. Now, we’re seeing a fourth step emerging,” he shared, indicating plans to eliminate ICE entirely.
Jordan criticized the situation, saying, “There’s a lack of enforcement of immigration laws at the federal level. It’s absurd, and all part of a strategy to weaken the country.” He stated, “We need to remember, the left has little regard for America.”
He went on to draw a larger perspective, suggesting that among the 193 countries globally, the left appears particularly critical of two: America and Israel. “These are nations founded on strong principles: one values individual freedom and opportunity; the other seeks refuge for Jewish people facing persecution,” he explained.
Jordan concluded, “These two countries hold significant importance. Interestingly, the left doesn’t seem to target less stable, problematic nations; instead, they focus on undermining what many see as the greatest nation—ours. This is a deliberate strategy, and it’s crucial to communicate this to the American public.”
