Jimmy Butler pokes fun at suspension with hilarious Instagram posts

At least Jimmy Butler is being a good sport all around.

The Heat star was suspended for one game for “inciting and participating in an on-court altercation” during Saturday night’s meeting with the Pelicans, but Butler posted the entire story online. There was nothing wrong with teasing.

Butler made light of his one-game suspension on his Instagram Story and in several posts on his account by sharing a prison-related song on his Story.

Butler seems to be posting the music he listens to on his Stories, but on Sunday, Butler’s reaction to the suspension took a slightly more comical turn.

Akon’s “Locked Up,” Kanye West’s “Jail,” and K-Ci & Jojo’s “Life” were all posted by Butler, drawing many laughs from online basketball fans who immediately understood the theme.

Butler didn’t stop there either.

He took it a step further by posting a Photoshopped image of his face and Heat teammate Nikola Jovic on a poster for the movie Bad Boys and tagging the post with the Miami-Dade County Jail.

Butler captioned the post: “It’s all @nikolajovicc’s fault.”

Jovic was also suspended for one game for “getting into an altercation on court” when he left the bench.

Both players will miss the Heat’s next game. The game will take place on Monday, when they will travel to Sacramento to face the Kings.

The commotion began with about 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter when Naji Marshall and Butler began a near-scuffle near the scorer’s table.

Multiple players and coaches from both teams became involved in trying to defuse the tense scene.

Despite the two incidents, things eventually calmed down and the two teams were separated.

A total of five players from the Heat and Pelicans (including Butler) were suspended for the on-court incident.
