Jimmy Fallon Critiques Biden’s Upcoming Memoir
On “The Tonight Show” this Wednesday, late-night host Jimmy Fallon took a jab at former President Joe Biden after he announced plans to release a memoir in November.
Biden’s book, titled “Promise Me, America,” is set to recount his presidency and delve into the “deeply agonizing calculation” that influenced his choice to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race, as per a press release. The memoir will be available starting November 17, just a couple of weeks post the midterm elections.
Fallon showcased a picture of the book cover, quipping, “This book was written by a ghostwriter, Joe Biden.” He then noted that this is Biden’s second book, with the first being “Odyssey.”
“That’s three pages,” Fallon joked further, poking fun at the book covering the former president’s experiences during his time in office.
He even alluded to former Vice President Kamala Harris, mentioning, “This is a kind of strange book because towards the end, Kamala Harris starts writing.”
Fox News Digital reached out for comment from Biden’s team regarding Fallon’s remarks but did not receive an immediate reply.
In a video shared on X, Biden revealed his book and mentioned that he has been diagnosed with cancer but is undergoing treatment and feels “very well.” He stated, “It’s about the challenges we face as a nation and the decisions I made, leading our country through COVID-19, rebuilding our economy, restoring democracy after January 6, ending our nation’s longest war in Afghanistan, strengthening NATO, supporting Ukraine.”
Lindy Lee, a former high-ranking Democratic fundraiser, expressed that Biden might be doing himself a disservice by attempting to justify his decision to run for re-election in 2024 amid rising concerns about his age and cognitive abilities. She believes Biden’s memoir could be a reflection of the struggles the Democrats have faced since their 2024 election loss.
Lee commented, “They’re thinking, ‘Why don’t you just shut him up?’ Before I left the party, they wanted nothing to do with this guy. When Biden left office on July 21, there was no farewell party in the Rose Garden other than one for his staff. There was nothing.”
