Kimmel Thanks Trump for Trending

During his latest monologue on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” the late-night host Jimmy Kimmel expressed gratitude towards President Donald Trump for helping him trend on Google. He humorously pointed out that he was the third most searched person, attributing this unforeseen fame to Trump.

Kimmel, known for his stance against Trump, remarked, “None of this would have happened without the support of loyal viewers like President Trump, who have gone to great lengths to raise our show’s profile.”

According to a recent Google trend report, Kimmel landed in third place, trailing musician “d4vd” and rapper Kendrick Lamar, who took the top two spots, respectively. He pointedly mentioned that he had removed references to certain controversial figures from his show, adding some levity to his ranking by joking about the musical artist who beat him.

He noted, “I don’t know if it’s an honor or not, but I have to compete with a guy whose name has a ‘4’ instead of an ‘a.’ That must drive him crazy.” Kimmel poked fun at Kendrick too, claiming he was involved in some dramatic incident involving another artist, though it was all in jest.

In a light-hearted message to Trump, he stated, “Mr. President, thank you for making me number three in the world.” This, of course, comes after the president has criticized him multiple times throughout the year, even going so far as to call Kimmel “talentless” and questioning why he continues to have a show.

Kimmel retorted to Trump’s accusations, suggesting, “How about this? When you go, I’m going, okay? Let’s ride off into the sunset together.” He even remarked on the president’s tendency to watch his show, humorously noting the timing of Trump’s late-night post on social media just after the show ended.

Alluding to an earlier incident where he faced backlash for implying a murder suspect was connected to Trump supporters, Kimmel reflected on the strong responses he had garnered, hinting at the pressure ABC faced regarding his comments. Despite this, he maintained his comedic style, leaving his audience with a mix of laughter and contemplation about the current political climate.
