Left-leaning late-night host Jimmy Kimmel handed his show over to his wife this week so she could go on an angry rant aimed at former President Donald Trump.
After Trump criticized Kimmel at a rally in Indiana on Monday night, Kimmel had his wife present.
“Jimmy Kimmel was the worst host in the history of the Oscars. He's one of the dumbest people ever. What a fool,” Trump said.
The president's comments came months after he criticized Jimmy Kimmel during the Oscars broadcast. “Has there ever been a worse host at the Oscars than Jimmy Kimmel?” Trump wrote on his Truth Social page, which Kimmel shared live on air.
Trump said at the rally that Kimmel's wife, Molly McNearney, had begged the comedian not to read his posts during the Oscars broadcast.
In response to Trump's comments at a rally on Monday, Kimmel said in a monologue, “Isn't that nice? You're once again mistaking me for one of your sons.”
“You think he's messing with me? What is this? When I die, I want this to be shown in the Emmy 'In Memoriam' montage,” Kimmel added.
Kimmel then joked, “Should I be concerned that Trump has mentioned my wife more than he has mentioned himself at his rallies this year?”
Kimmel then invited McNearney onto the stage to give his own response to Trump's comments.
“I'm glad you've brought this to my attention,” McNearney told Trump, “because you've run the Supreme Court, one in three women in this country currently lives under an abortion ban. Because of you, women in 21 states cannot make choices about their own lives and their own bodies. And 10 states in the United States have no exceptions for rape or incest.”
“The party that you run so big and so beautifully, the party that cares so much about motherhood, has just blocked a bill to protect access to IVF. Women are dying and good doctors are leaving because women can't get and provide the reproductive healthcare they so desperately need. So my advice to you is to shut up and walk away,” she added.
“Go to Mar-a-Lago,” she concluded, “cheat at golf all day, watch Newsmax and masturbate, and leave the rest to the capable women.”
