Jimmy Kimmel Helps Spencer Pratt Rent a U-Haul to Move After Losing His Home in LA Wildfires: 'I Have Nothing Left'

Kimmel Responds to Pratt’s Mayoral Loss

Jimmy Kimmel shared his thoughts on Spencer Pratt’s defeat in the Los Angeles mayoral race during his ABC show on Tuesday night. He humorously mentioned that he rented a U-Haul for Pratt, who has been a notable reality star, so he could pack up and leave Los Angeles, where he reportedly no longer resides after last year’s severe wildfires.

“I’m just waiting to hear back from Spencer Pratt,” Kimmel said in his monologue. “He promised that if Karen Bass or Nithya Raman won, he would be out of LA for good. He said he was done.” The enthusiasm in Kimmel’s voice was evident, as he continued, “If you’re watching, Spencer, we’re really going to miss you. You’re a man of your word, so you have to go.”

Kimmel acknowledged that moving isn’t easy, particularly in tough economic times, mentioning that donations for campaigns are dwindling. “Moving is expensive,” he added, hinting at the challenges Pratt might face.

To lighten the moment, Kimmel showcased a video of a U-Haul adorned with balloons and Pratt’s likeness, sporting the words “Just Defeated” painted on the side, while tin cans clanked from the back as it drove away. “There’s plenty of space for you in there—two beds, a table, chairs, crystals, whatever you need. Our team spent the day putting it all together so everyone can wave goodbye as you leave,” he quipped.

“I hope you and Heidi find happiness wherever you land,” Kimmel concluded. “Maybe I could run for mayor in your new place, or just aim to finish third there. That would make for a fun reality show plot. Anyway, mazeltov, and goodbye, Spencer Pratt.”

In response, Pratt took to Instagram the next day, pointing out that Kimmel had misunderstood part of his situation. He reminded the host that after the wildfires, he had “nothing left to carry.” In his post, he included footage of what remained of his home, emphasizing the gravity of his loss.

Pratt, who finished third in Tuesday’s election, had earlier launched his mayoral campaign in a rally called “They Let Us Burn,” held to mark one year since the devastating fires impacted his community. Since losing his house with wife Heidi Montag, he has become vocal against both Mayor Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom.
